The India Opportunity

India's tech landscape is rapidly growing, with over 600 million internet users and 75,000 tech startups, establishing the country as an innovation and technological hub. Recognizing these opportunities, we, at Startup Réseau, have developed market entry programs to facilitate tech founders' entry into the Indian market. However, we realised that many stakeholders were missing out due to limited market access and the lack of tailored initiatives.

In response, we created Gateway91 (G91) to cater to the needs of various stakeholders, including investors, venture capitalists, and government representatives, providing them with tailored programs and opportunities to explore India's thriving tech ecosystem.

What is the G91 program?

Designed as a 2-weeks immersive program, G91 will provide Government representatives, ecosystem enablers and business owners a full 360- degree experience of India as a developing market with a burgeoning startup ecosystem. This will include conversations with CXOs, tech startup visits, cultural agility through an experiential learning program with experts, networking events, and a comprehensive understanding of a global economic anchor.

Recap of Edition #1

In February 2023, we launched our pilot program of G91 as a closed-door initiative, handpicking participants from our existing network. The selected group comprised a diverse range of individuals, including scale-up founders, representatives from City Council's Trade and Investment office, and business owners. Over a span of two weeks, the cohort embarked on a journey across five major Indian cities: Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Ahmedabad.

During their travels, the cohort had the privilege of meeting with key stakeholders who have played a significant role in the growth of the Indian ecosystem including government agencies, universities, research centers, unicorn founders, corporates, and more. By engaging with these influential entities, the cohort swiftly identified promising opportunities and formulated strategic plans to enter the Indian market.
